Subject: <INFO>: This week's little Ripple - correction 12.12.09
Okay, okay ..... you’re absolutely right. The brit’s brain is turning to mush, and unless they are still on a pre-Gregorian calendar back there in the old country, he can’t even get his Fridays and Saturdays in order!!
On the other hand, those bright-eyed readers of my rippling reportage who pointed out my deliberate error for this week (just checking if you are awake out there!) give me hope and encouragement that someone, somewhere does read all this stuff and the long hours of sweat and toil in my lonely writer’s garret are not in vain!
Corrected below – Songbird Sanctuary on Friday 18th, private party on the 19th.
Some good caption entries coming in – come on, don’t be shy!!!
Across the Water
"Songs from the Wood & Wire"
"Music should strike fire from the heart of man, and bring tears from the eyes of woman". (Ludwig van Beethoven)
"Seasons Greetings from Bob, Paul and Steve - AtW"
“… …. Holiday special caption competition! …….”
....’tis the season to give AtW CDs to all your best friends, favourite aunties, nearest and dearests, and if you don’t like our music, you can even send them to people you don’t like! Such is the versatility of an AtW CD! And just to get you into the mood of giving in this festive season, here’s a special to y’all from AtW - a caption competition for which the prize will be a set of all three AtW CDs – yes folks! One each of Watermark, Waterproof and this year’s production - Watercolour. And in order to claim your prize, here’s all you have to do......
1. Identify the well-known banjo-toting member of AtW in the candid photograph below.
2. Identify the location of this organic, outdoor gig which AtW perform at approximately once every two months.
............. and finally ..............
3. Come up with an amusing and original caption to go with the photograph!
Please send your answers to the following e-mail address: steve.goodchild@sbcglobal.net anytime over the next week, but before our show at the Songbird Sanctuary (see below). We shall select the lucky winner and will present the prize either at the Songbird Sanctuary gig if the lucky winner happens to be there (hint!, hint!) or as soon as can be arranged thereafter if not!
Don’t forget, Across the Water CDs make great Christmas presents …….
